                                                   Matt Mandigo

Introduced to the game by his father at the age of 11, Matt Mandigo picked up a golf club and immediately was hooked.   Playing at high levels of high-school and college golf became Matt’s life and passion for several years.  The study of what exactly happens in the golf swing, and in the putting stroke became his life’s work.  Here are just some of Matt's achievements in golf:

»  All-American collegiate golf, Portland State University, 1992
»  Winner, Silverado Collegiate Invitational 1992
»  Winner, West Coast Regionals 1992
»  Winner, MVP of Western District Div II 1992
»  Low scoring average for region 1992
»  8th place NCAA Championship Div II 1992
»  Low amateur qualifier with four under 68, GI Joes Northwest Open, 1994
    »  2nd place, UBC International Invitational, 1991
    »  Made 7 birdies in a row, Top O Scott Open 1994
    »  One-putted 9 greens in a row, Glaze Meadow Inv. 1993

A true student of the game in every aspect of the word, Matt read about every golf book and magazine available as he studied the greatest ball-strikers and the greatest putters in golf’s history, to find out what truly happens when a great player strikes a golf ball.

Throughout his learning, he studied golf with the Teacher of the Decade for the 1980’s, the famous and now legendary Jimmy Ballard, who taught at the Doral Resort and Country Club in Miami, FL for over 10 years.  Ballard learned the game of golf from the great Alabama instructor, Sam Byrd, who played baseball alongside Babe Ruth, then went on the PGA Tour and won 25 Tour Events – the only baseball player to make that transition so successfully.

Conan Elliot from the great northwest in Oregon influenced his swing thoughts in college as Matt Mandigo was achieving All-American status, and recently Matt has unlocked some time-guarded secrets with veteran and noted Southern California instructor, A.J. Bonar.

Matt loves to continue to play in golf tournaments when he has time, and his time is also divided by teaching, writing, and following his passionate business pursuits, such as this website.

“All of these fantastic golf instructors have had a great influence in my teaching the fundamental golf swing, and the fundamental putting stroke.  You can take my 22+ years of experience and the thousands of dollars in travel and lessons I have spent (many top instructors charge in upwards of $250.00+ per hour for personal lessons), and learn the true fundamentals in just a few days!”    - Matt Mandigo
